We may use Data to customize and improve your user experience on the GiveG site. For the purpose of making the Giving process possible, other users may view your contact information at times. At no time will your e-mail address be visible or given otherwise to other users or any other third parties. We let you change your personal information so that you can keep it up to date. This Policy does not apply to other entities that we do not own or control or persons that are not our employees, agents or within our control.
Further Disclosure
Your Login Number is displayed throughout the Site, and is therefore available to the public. All of your activities on the Site will be identifiable by your Login Number. Other people can see your items that you have Given in the past, comments, your postings on the Site and so on. Although our pages are secure, others may attempt to automatically collect your email address from our Site. Changing your personal information is explained under Editing or Deleting Your Account Information. Further, we may send out notices to you or other members regarding suspicious activity or policy violations on the Site. We will disclose limited personal information to verified requests by law enforcement and government officials who conduct criminal investigations, and require a subpoena for additional personal information, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Therefore, in response to a verified request by law enforcement or other government officials relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, we can (and you authorized us to) disclose your name, city, state/province, telephone number, email address, Login Name history, fraud complaints, and Giving, catalogue orders and listing history without a subpoena. However, in an effort to balance your right to privacy and protect the GiveG community, we will not disclose additional information to law enforcement or other government officials without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when the additional disclosure of information is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or material loss. Further we can (and you authorize us to) disclose your name, mobile number, street address, city, state/province, postal code, country, phone number, email and company name as we in our sole discretion believe necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation or prosecution of any unlawful activity.
Cookies
Like many web sites, we may set and use cookies to enhance your user experience, such as retaining your personal settings. Advertisements may appear on our web site and, if so, may set and access cookies on your computer and is subject to the privacy policy of those parties providing the advertisement. However, the companies serving the advertising do not have access to our cookies. Editing or Deleting Your Account Information
We provide you with the ability to edit the information in your user account information that you provided to us in registration by using ‘My Profile'. You may request deletion of your user account by contacting info@GiveG.com. Content or other data that you may have provided to us and that is not contained within your user account, such as posts that may appear within our forums, may continue to remain on our site at our discretion even though your user account is deleted. We do retain personal information from closed accounts in order to comply with law, prevent fraud, assist with any investigations, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may make changes to this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of substantial changes to this Policy either by posting a prominent announcement on our site and/or by sending a message to the e-mail address you have provided to us that is contained within your user settings. All amended terms automatically take effect thirty days after it is posted on the site. We will provide you with an opportunity to reject such changes and subsequently close your account.
Spamming
We and our users do not tolerate spam. Make sure to set your GiveG notification preferences so we communicate to you as you prefer. You are not licensed to add other GiveG users, even a user who has taken an item from you, to your mail list (sms, email or physical mail) without their express consent. You may not use our communication tools to send spam or otherwise send content that would violate the General Terms and Conditions. We do filter and automatically scan messages before they are sent for viruses and other illegal or prohibited content but do not permanently store email messages sent through these tools.
No guarantees
While this Privacy Policy states our standards for maintenance of Data and we will make efforts to meet them, we are not in a position to guarantee these standards you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private. There may be factors beyond our control that may result in disclosure of data. For example, users may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect from the Site. As a consequence, we disclaim any warranties or representations relating to maintenance or nondisclosure of Data.
